Based in Beaminster, the nearest town to Chedington, the salon will have friendly neighbours in Chedington Weddings, Chedington Equestrian, Superior Motorcycle Experiences and North Buckham Farm which are all situated nearby.
We envision the salon being an ideal complimentary offering to our guests staying with us in the numerous accommodation options we have in Dorset, and in particular for our wedding parties staying at West Axnoller Farm.

We caught up with salon manager Janemarie:
Q: Hi Janemarie, can you tell us about your background in the industry and The Salon On The Square:
A: For over 25 years I’ve been dedicated to creating wearable, precise but classic hair designs and colours. I’ve worked with the likes of Wella, L’Oreal, Redken and Aveda, resulting in a depth of experience and qualifications. More recently I’ve become a hair loss specialist that provide people with advice and discreet service with high quality wigs and hair pieces, whether needed for medical reasons, enhance confidence or bring a touch of glamour to life.
Salon the Square is an established Aveda salon in an ideal location and I’m so fortunate and grateful to have such a wonderful, talented team who’ve been so welcoming.
Q: What are you most excited about now you’re part of the Chedington Estate?
A: Being part of Chedington Estate has allowed me to take on a wonderful but challenging experience with confidence due to a fabulous support network of the team. Whilst I’m not new to hairdressing, running a business is new to me and Chedington understand that and they love my passion for this industry and so can provide the guidance and advice in areas that I currently lack, which is great.
Q: What are your favourite styles and treatments available at the salon, are there any winter trends to look out for?
Winter is coming and people are moving away from the beachy blondes and going warmer with coppers, honey/caramel blondes and even raven black! Style wise, big and bouncy sexy hair is back and it’s all about the glamour!
Now I mustn’t forget gorgeous beauty treatments we have available. Right now, guests are loving the Aveda Tulasara facials that create balance for the skin by using aroma and techniques designed for each and every need or concerns – It’s so versatile! Whether you want to address aging, dry, oily, uneven or sensitive skin, Aveda Tulasara is the way forward and so relaxing as well!
